If I had $5000 to spend on a pair of speakers...I'd go with Axiom M80 or M-60. However, I spent a mere fraction of that. I have had these speakers for about 2 years. I must say these speakers are the finest I have ever heard. I used to have the m22 set in front and used a sub woofer- they were very good. Although larger speakers were NOT necessary for my room I decided to get the M-60's simply because I wanted a true 3-way speaker. It didn't take much thought to realize that the Axiom M-60's were the way to go. Ok I could have gone all out and spent just a tad more for the M-80's....but really...why? And I say that with the utmost respect for the M-80's which I have not heard. But the M-60's take everything I can throw at them and do it with a smile.

I use these speakers WITHOUT my 12" subwoofer. I don't need it at all. In fact when watching a few sci-fi flicks with some friends we kept switching back and forth. Aside from earth shattering bass with the sub, the axioms did it all. And yes these M-60's can make the ground rumble! Not quite sub like, but as close as I have ever FELT from a floor standing speaker.

The m-60's frequency response it outstanding at 27-22khtz pretty low for a floor standing non-sub, and the crossover is set just right at 200 and 2k. The power handling is dominate at 250watts, and the efficiency is sublime. I am throwing a VERY LARGE AND POWERFUL receiver at these speakers, and at extremely high volumes neither broke a sweat. Trust me, these speakers can take real juice at real levels. You will not have to worry about blowing your amp or cracking your speakers, just send them a clean signal. The speakers can take any clean signal I throw at them. I listen to metal, Jazz, rock, classical, new wave, r&b. These speakers take it all and do it well. Most of my friends say they have never heard midrange so clean. I tell them I have never heard bass so clean...even at very very low volume levels the bass is evident. These speakers do it all and do it well.

I am and will forever more be an Axiom advocate. Visit their website, read the reviews. I do not think you can find any speaker that touches the Axiom line quality if you spend 4 times the money. I truly believe that. But be the judge yourself. I did, and i proved to myself that I have not heard a better set of speakers...at any price. They're that good.
