The item was easy to assemble, taking about 20 minutes at most. I read all the reviews before purchasing this media rack, wanting something that was economically priced while delivering acceptable quality, and this one fit the bill. The back is one solid piece, not a folding sheet of cardboard as are some others you may read about. The finish is semi-gloss, not shiny as I feared. I use the rack for displaying CD's, blue ray discs, video games, and DVD's. The depth of the shelves is perfect, with the DVD's coming right to the edge and not protruding from the shelf as the reviews of other products have mentioned. The only word of caution I would offer on the installation is to ensure that the "Screw/Bolts" (as they are called in the instructions) are screwed in carefully at a right angle to avoid splitting the fiberboard material around the pre-drilled holes of the side support pieces.

The slim design of the rack in both width and depth make it unobtrusive, which suits my needs exactly. I would also like to mention that the capacity listed seeems to be accurate, depending on the mixture of media stored. I had three shelves left over that will not be installed, as well as a variety of spare parts. The product is made in Vietnam, which appears to be the prevelant location these days for the manufacture of low cost accent furniture, so keep that in mind. This rack is not meant to be a showpiece, but delivers nicely on its promise of a functional design coupled with an attractive appearance.
