The stand is in a corner of my living room. It's larger than what I had envisioned. (Not a problem). The stand is very sturdy. I decided not to use the accompied mounting plate. I felt uneasy about mounting a 20 pound, 12x16x20" on a plastic mount and tied down with four tiny screws. Instead, I opted to mount the speaker directly onto the speaker stand pole via pole well built into the speaker case. I then filled the space between the pole and speaker well wall with cardboard. It works fine. The stand, in and of it self, is great. I would definetly recommend this speaker stand for the appropriate speaker.
