This SoundStream T7-15 rocks my socks! This is the first 15 inch sub I've ever owned (I've always be partial to 2-12s) but I'm glad I decided to step up to a 15.

This 14/2 speaker wire is pretty good but is a bit over-priced. It's CL2 wire, but you can find CL3 12/2 which has a better jacket for a better price elsewhere. I would recommend getting CL3 instead of CL2 wire for in-wall installations.

I'm certainly not a techie, so forgive my lack of expertise. I'm an old guy, but I do have an Iphone ... with some apps, even. When I had occasion to do some remodeling in my ancient mother's ancient house recently, I knew I'd like some music to stave off boredom. My dusty old GE "boom box" was my original plan, but when I dragged it out of the attic and plugged it in, it was deader than yesterday's love. So, off to the internet. Turns out there are gazillions of options and prices for I-speakers, so I landed on this little guy ... decent user reviews, and cheap enough to toss it if it failed. It is teeny, only about the size of a lemon ... it came with enough charge in it to operate, and it paired up with the phone easily ... in about 20 seconds, I was jammin' to the oldies. The sound from this little guy is amazing ... I placed it in the center of the house, and was able to hear it in every room, with the phone volume set at about 3/4. (there is no volume control on the speaker). So far, no problems at all after about 7 hours of continuous operation. Recommended.

Onkyo SKF4800 2-Way Bass Reflex Front Speakers (Black) Review

I love these speakers!
Now I know that's a subjective opinion, but they look and sound beautiful.
Large, heavy (delivery box weighs about 70lbs so team lift if possible). The amazon description puts the shipping weight at 21lbs, that's incorrect by the way - it's much heavier.
Out of the well packed box, they are extremely well made, and certainly aesthetically as good as more expensive alternatives.
They are NOT powered, so straight passive, and although the provided cables are adequate, I used a heavier 16 gauge cable. Firstly as I can never get the kinks out of folded cables, and secondly as I don't want to be limited by the length of the cables provided (although they are reasonable in length).
You can pick up some good replacement cable here on Amazon very reasonably, I recommend Mediabridge - 16 Gauge Speaker Wire -(100 Feet)
These speakers are obviously designed for floor use, not just for weight, but unlike previous speakers I have replaced with these, need no plinth or stand, they come with a built in solid wood base giving a couple of inches clearance from the ground to avoid resonance.
It's worth noting that I have mine in a home theater 7:1 setup, as the dedicated FRONT L&R - to this end, they have a crisp, clear sound both for music, and movies over a multitude of preset and custom sound settings. If I was to be ever so picky, I would say that I would have preferred One woofer, and a mid range and tweeter instead of the dual woofer configuration, also the tweeters sounds a teeny bit tinny at higher volumes, but overall I'm impressed.
Connection is standard +/- black and red screw downs, but they are also compatible with banana connectors. They do connect easily with bare wire, but I prefer the connectors if you have them.
130W input power should be enough for most people, I don't ever crank the volume that high myself, but during testing these could almost wake the dead without distortion or sound loss.
The woofer equalizer is a nice touch, probably a little redundant through my Yamaha receiver, but if using these on a CD based sound system for example, that would probably be more noticeable.
Overall, I have to give them 5 stars, for looks, build quality, exceptional sound and aesthetics. Certainly worth the money, and a lot less than some higher priced models.
