I've had this receiver for two weeks now and I can't stop listening to my music !! I've just started my master plan off using this receiver and I'm glad I did. I've got seven older speakers hooked up to this and this receiver makes them sound like $10,000 speakers. To keep this review short, you won't be disappointed buying this receiver if you're looking to start of in the mid range of a home theatre project. Yes, it is complicated setting up the receiver but, that is to be expected. It is after all, a very capable receiver. Enjoy !!!

My family including three young children (9,6 & 4) just got back from a 2300 mile one week trip. I purchased this before I left and consider it the greatest investment I ever made. I placed on the center consol of my 1999 Tahoe. All three kids could see the picture clearly despited being seat belted in. The controls easy to use. You could even read captions. The only complaint was the wireless speakers that broadcast to the FM radio. There was so much interferance, that we used the built in speakers, but, the sound was good and it worked.

Jolida Audio - JD1501BRC - Integrated Hybrid Stereo Amplifier in Black Review

The Jolida 1501 BRC amp listed here is their 100 watt hybrid amplifier - not 30 Watts as mentioned in the description. Hybrid means that there is a tube based preamp section followed by a solid state Mosfet power amplifier section. The Jolida 1301 retailing for about $400 is their actual 30 watt model. The tubes used in the preamp section are 12AX7 types.

Actually the 30 watt model sounds better than the higher watt models. As long as your speakers can be driven by fairly low power go for the Jolida 1301. This is an amplifier suited for bedroom or den systems or driving a computer system audio (non-game) set up. The Jolida hybrid amplifier is actually quite good sounding and a great value for the money. They are quite neutral so you will get clean highs but also a fairly firm bass. IMPORTANT: You must change the tubes that come with the unit. For some reason Jolida stocks them with the lousiest sounding tubes from China. There are plenty of low cost replacement tubes that will provide far better sound. You can get 1980s era JAN 12AX7 tubes for about $10 each. GE and a few others were still making these tubes up to the early 80s.

This is a great receiver, with impressive specs, minus the bells and whistles. I love the simple, straight forward design-it looks great and will bring out the best in your speakers.

Harman Kardan knows what they are doing-wattage is fine, but the amps help the power of the sound. I look for 20-20,000khz response as far as sound goes-get that resonant bass response, clear highs, nice midtones. You have to look and read the specs to find that-with all the overpriced brands out there (most don't match these specs), look no further-it's right here.I read about a few of the Harman Kardans at Amazon and ordered this one, because it has everything I need. It is a replacement for my 24 year old amp that could probably be repaired, but I decided to update (it upgraded, really) my system.

This has your basic balance, treble and bass controls, and stereo or mono for FM-so if you want to equalize, you have to add that separate. My first amplifier had buttons and toggle switches to help that out-but this receiver sounds great without that.You can add a subwoofer and/or a second pair of speakers, there's the headphone jack, and, for all of us from the vinyl era, TURNTABLE JACKS, besides a CD player and/ or tape deck. I have a pair of Bose 301s that sound really nice-a great match. At 95 watts per channel stereo, you can fill your house with some great music-a powerful receiver. If you are looking for a really nice unit for your Bose, JBLs, Klipsh, whatever-this is a great choice. The remote is fine-easy to use capable of 30 radio station presets.Incidently, a friend gave me a pair of speakers-some small Fishers-bookshelf size-never heard them before-rated 40 watts, 80 watts max., 60-20,000khz. I hooked these up to the HK to see that they worked and was really impressed at the sound from these speakers. Buy with confidence! Waterfall Audio "Victoria" EVO Floor Standing Loudspeakers - Pair Review

We recently bought a pair of these. Compared to other brands in a similar price range (gallo, kef, etc.) these were superior in every way. We bought them for the sound quality but their beauty is a nice bonus. These will work nicely in any space and with any decor. They are smaller than most other floor standing speakers, which make them great for apartment/ condo dwellers. I would describe the sound as rich and full of color, with perfect balance. These are a little pricey but well worth it. You won't be disappointed.
