I was ready to spend up to $1000 to get the quality, features, and performance I found in this sweet, way-great-deal surprise!!
I was made aware of this new Panasonic piece by a local audio retailer - it was brand new - so I took a look and a listen. (A major audio/video magazine had also recently raved about the SA-HE100 - this guy's little brother.) I was absolutely floored!! The Panasonic SA-HE200 offers anything and everything you'll need for dynamic music or movies in up to 6 channels, and at the price is an absolute steal (a rear surround speaker is even included!!) I never thought of Panasonic as a high-end product at a beer-budget price, but my hat is off to them. Thanks for such a great package at such a ridiculously affordable price !!
(Hurry and grab one before they realise they can get twice the price for it !!)

I previouslly had the Sony DVP-S360 and I was reasonably satisfied with it. However, I just wanted to buy a new sound system to my bedroom and a new TV so I went to Andorra which is a principality between Spain and France and is tax free zone. I bought this system and the Sharp 36NS400 TV to go with it.The whole package was about 35% cheaper than in portugal or United States.The sound is good enough due to the constitution of my room and the image quality is perfect. Memorex Mi1112 iPod Speaker System Review

This is an average system that is nice because it has a dock and allows you to have multiple CDs in it at once. The remote worked well, and there are a good amount of radio presets.

Do not buy this stereo if you're hoping to turn your iPod into your home stereo sound system. This product unfortunately has very little bass, I thought with it being touted as a 20W system, it'd have some more powerful sound, but I think it fell short. Also, the radio reception seemed a bit flaky, stations that typically come in well always had static.

Panasonic SC-DP1 Progressive Scan DVD Home Theater System Review

I purchased this unit as a CD player and FM tuner only. I have not yet used the DVD facilities.
This is an attractive system. The unit is mostly metal-cased and solidly built. The front fascia features brushed stainless steel (or at least a very good facsimile of it), a display that looks like opaque chromed perspex when switched off, and a chromed volume control with a quality, 'weighted' feel to it. The build and finish are excellent.
On CD, the sound quality on 'normal' setting is perhaps a little more mellow than you would expect from a jap system at this price, though it is always smooth and well detailed. Switching to 'advanced surround' processing really puts a punch into a normal CD. Vocals can suffer slightly at this setting compared to the original, but listeners tend to say 'wow, that's pretty good!' when you hit the 'surround' button. I expect a properly encoded dolby DVD would sound even better than a CD.
The FM tuner picked up stations easily, and sound quality is very good. The tuner tends to sound quite a bit louder than a CD at the same volume setting.
The volume level for CDs was easily adequate for my room (20ft x 17ft), but if you like your music very loud or have a larger room than this, you may find yourself turning it all the way up on occasions.
Bass is slightly lacking for my taste (though there is an output for a powered subwoofer, which I might well add at some point...). There is little choice but to stick with the supplied speakers, as this is a bi-wired speaker amp, requiring 4 seperate wires to each speaker. The supplied speakers come with only about 5ft of cable each.
The speakers don't ooze the same quality finish as the main system unit. The main problem is the cheap fake wood 'cherry' finish, though they're well constructed. They're a strange stretched octagonal shape (better than it sounds, actually), and look much better with the silvery fabric cover removed. I think they will grow on me, but I haven't seen fake wood that colour since the seventies. Compared to the look of any other speakers I've seen from units around this price, they'll do.
At this price, I haven't heard any mini-system that matches the overall sound quality (apart from a couple that look like scrap left over from a mad max movie.... what are manufacturers thinking?), or build quality.
If you're into burning your own CDs (or DVDs), this system can play or display lots of formats, including MP3s, windows media files (WMA), and even JPEGs (as well as all the usual DVD formats).
Overall; built well, looks good, sounds great, well worth the money. I love it.

Panasonic SC-AK600 Compact Stereo System Review

It's hard trying to find a surround sound system for someone who already has a DVD player and is looking to add surround sound. Anyone who shops around knows that surround sound systems with dvd are less expensive than those without dvd. Why is that? Well once I came across this system I was a little skeptical about purchasing it but I was glad I did. The surround sound is amazing and the subwoofer,when really turned up, will make the windows shake. It sounds just as good as those costly systems and is perfect for someone like me who dosent have lot of money to spend but can still enjoy theatre quality sound. Also, the unit has several audio plugs (woo hoo) so you can connect a VCR, Playstation, and DVD all at once without having to switch out wires when you want to hear good sound.
