I hate to leave negative reviews/feedback and in this case certainly it isn't against the company, but the product itself. I'm trying to save someone else the hassle. You may think you are getting a great deal on this lamp. In fact, if it worked for however long, you would be. Come on, $30 compared to over $100 OEM. It's a no-brainer right!? The issue (as I have come to find out) is the generic bulbs like this, IF they work, may only work for a couple of months or so. Then again, some don't even turn on. Unfortunately for me mine was the latter and didn't work right out of the box.At first I thought I had messed something up, but I followed the instructions to the letter from the manual. I even blew the dust out, reseated it no no avail. My TV actually does turn on -- for about 30 seconds and then flickers and turns off to the RED LAMP indicator on the front. A quick test of the error codes produced 3-4 which means Lamp Abnormality. I've called several places around town that sell the OEM lamps and told me this is one of the biggest problems are the generic lamps. Some people get lucky on these and they last for a year or so but the majority are not so lucky. Do any search on Google for your Mitsubishi TV's model number and "lamp flickers then turns off" or "lamp replacement not working" and you'll see pages of forums and threads on issues ONLY where people have purchased generic bulbs.
But hey, don't take my word for it, try for yourself. We're going to be shipping ours back today.
