I have been into hi-fi audio for the last 35 years. You should know that most of those highly priced speakers on the market are unnecessary in order to listen to accurate reproduction of the recorded music people listen to.
The Athena WS-60 is a well made, good sounding front or center speaker. These speakers may be the best sounding on the market at $99 per speaker.
They can be put on a table or wall mounted and look great with the new HD LCD televisions. After a couple of days of breaking them in they sound great. Get yourself a good 10" subwoofer for the low end and you have one of the best sounding systems around for a reasonable cost. Athena also makes the WS-100 which is the floor standing version and a WS-15 for surround sound.
I bought two WS-60 speakers and a set of WS-15 speakers. Went through the Amazon website for security purposes. The seller is Audio Advisor. Arrived in perfect condition and they sound great !

The PT-AMG2 is the ideal choice in applications requiring both a stable audio signal source and precision metering for analog audio system verification, alignment and testing. This portable audio instrument is comprised of a precision audio oscillator, precision level meter and a monitor speaker. The oscillator section features two outputs. The balanced output is front-panel switch selectable MIC or LINE level professional standard. The unbalanced output operates at -10 dBV consumer standard. The 700 Hz oscillator is in the midrange passband of any audio system, yet is easily distinguished from 400 Hz or 1 kHz tones without producing listening fatigue associated with 1 kHz oscillators. The oscillator features output stability suited to accurate bench top audio testing. The unique PT-AMG2 output network produces the equivalent output level into low impedance 200 Ohms and higher impedance 1000 Ohms mic preamps. This is ideal for 50 dB micto-line gain setup of any RDL module or other industry mic preamp. The audio metering circuit features two inputs. The balanced input is front-panel switch selectable for MIC or LINE input professional standard. The unbalanced input operates at -10 dBV consumer standard. Either input may be used to feed the metering circuit, which is referenced to the input being used. For balanced 4 dBu inputs, the meter 0 dB 4 dBu. For unbalanced inputs, the meter 0 dB -10 dBV.

I got lucky and found these on clearance at a camera store that had bought another camera store that sold other electronics. I got these along with a passive sub for $100. Score! I patiently waited for the Canton center channel that's designed to go with these to show up on ebay and then ran all inline with my powered Monitor sub. The result is stunning.

The speakers produce an amazingly rich sound from such a small enclosure. What's unique about these is that they're actually two-way. The metal tweeter floats above the woofer, allowing for the smaller size like in some car speakers.

These are great for smaller rooms or for the design-minded individual that wants a high-quality sound. To get the full effect of what these speakers can do, you should have a good amplifier. I've got an Outlaw Audio that drives them beautifully. If you're new to the world of audio, it's not necessarily about watts as much is it is about clean power.

All in all, I am very pleased with my little Cantons. They are a terrific value even at $330.

So, I am a bit tired of reading these nonsense reviews by someone who obviously doesnt care to know the difference. Now I did not buy mine through Amazon but rather Magnolia HiFi. I have been a bit of a music lover for most of my life and have had decent systems over the years. I have always used "good" spools of speaker wire never bigger than 16AWG. My current system is made up of Bowers & Wilkins 685's Marantz PM8004 integrated amp and a Marantz CD6004, they are connected via AQ King Cobra currently "about to receive my AQ Columbia's"!!!!. Power is through Panamax and PC's are Audioquest NRG4 all the way around. The speaker cable rabbit hole started with the AudioQuest Type 4 Speaker cables with pre-attached banana connectors 15-foot pair which are an excellent place to start and possibly stay with! Very neutral and musical but nothing to grab my attention past the OMG this is incredible! My speakers allowed for a bi-wire and thats what I did, my rep Brandt Luther at Magnolia in Richfield MN, thought I should try the swap and I found a cable "Rocket 33" that opened the top of my speakers and commanded attention to the detail of the lows. Being able to hear the instrument that is making the sound with a realism and texture, guitars falling off sound like they are in the room! Soundstage is exactly what it is...you dont notice the speaker as much as you notice where each instrument and voice is coming from. Then a couple of weeks ago, right at my limit for exchange "60 day Premier Silver" I went back in and asked for the 88's. Based on what I had gathered on research the upgrade in copper purity plus the inclusion of the DBS system which allows for me to power up and have next to no warm up time to full detail. It works, the sound is so natural I would describe it as being unstressed like an almost perfect transfer of what happened in the studio. The darkness or lack of noise in the background is truly astonishing which I believe is partly due to the DBS system. I have roomates, who may go to bed and I am able to listen quietly with astonish detail, because I do not hear anything whatsoever in the background but detailed instruments and voice. Music references were Peter Gabriel's "I Grieve" from the City of Angels soundtrack. the instruments sound to be in a perfect orientation in a small venue, but it is Peters voice about thirty or seconds in that tells you "You chose the right cable" The tone, texture, dimensionality, and airiness all with that pitch black background brings the music to palpable experience that I had never experienced before!
