Although this player does a fine job playing the DVD, it has some terrible features. Almost every command has to be done via the remote control. However, you need a magnifier and very, very small fingers to not push the wrong tiny buttons. But even when you do it correctly, it can drive you nuts. F.i. when you want to slowly advance and push the correct button, it almost immediately goes into advancing from twice the speed, to 8x, 20x 100x!! The reverse is the same way and you can go back and forth screaming until you learn to barely touch the button.
A pain. Also, it lacks the simple feature to return to where you left off when you stop the player. No matter what you try, it won't.

Finally, when you open the box, the first thing you see is a big announcement that if you have any questions about the operation or need any help, call the 800 number. Wow!

Well, don't bother because the automated system gives you the run-around without helping you at all. When you manage to reach Toshiba and get a live person, you will spend another half hour being switched around until you get a person telling you that Toshiba does not offer any assistance: read the manual! So even when I had a person on the phone who seemed to know how to correct the problem of not continuing to play where left off, he told me to go to the software on the unit and click on that feature. Guess what, the unit tells you every time that you are not allowed to get to the software!!

I would pass on this unit.

When our TV's lamp went out, I was a little concerned about how hard it would be to change this thing out... I'm a computer geek by trade, but I honestly don't know a lot about HD televisions. I took a quick look at my TV's manual, and had learned how to pop the lamp in and out in just a few minutes.
Basically, you pop open one panel, turn a lever and pull out another panel, grab the old lamp by hook/finger handle, gently pull up and out. Push the new one in until it pops into place, make sure you replace the inner panel properly (the one with the lever, if not secured properly, the TV won't turn on), then pop the outer panel back on and there you have it, a TV again.
Our lamp has been in for several months, and the image quality (especially brightness) seems to be as good as I remember the stock lamp. Having said that, it may be the stock lamp.
Summary: if your WEGA or whatever goes black and this lamp fits into your unit, then get one. I like a bright TV in a dark room, as does my wife. We've both put this replacement lamp to it's paces, not to mention we leave the TV on when we're not home.

Mohu Sky HDTV Antenna Review

What can I say, other than I am very pleased with the outcome. My review is as follows:

Packaging:
Super packaging. Clear directions and very nice labeling / numbering of the parts. I also liked the fact that Mohu is indicating from pictures, you can run your whole house through the single Sky antenna. The picture of the 'HOUSE' on the box was a nice touch.

My situation is:
I've been looking to cut the cord, Time Warner Cable, for quite some time and was quite sick of the horrible customer service, bad compressed HD signal's, and the ridiculous monthly payment for TV that we simply didn't watch all that much. Literally I started to take notice of my Wife and I, when the kids were down and in bed,TV watching habits. Unless it was a movie that we rented from Amazon Prime instant video or Netflix, we were channel surfing literally every night. During the day, no TV and weekends -- well TV watching was non-existent as well.

I've known about Mohu and their leaf antenna's for a while and have heard great things about them, but I was looking for something stronger, something to control a whole house through 1 antenna. --- After many emails with the Mohu team and waiting for this antenna to hit the market, this was hopefully my savior!

My setup:
GE Smart Panel in closet. 6 TV's in house + 1 projector in the movie room.
1) Play room - Rarely used
2) Living room - used often
3) Porch - 50/50 use
4) Spare bedroom's - Used when guests stay over
5) Master bedroom - used often
6) Office - Used daily
7) Movie room - Mainly used for movies / football (Summer time, use will be very low)

Install:
I originally hooked up the antenna in the closet, hooked directly into the panel for testing purposes. This closet is literally in the middle of my house so I figured I wouldn't get much of a signal, but I wasn't looking for that... I was simply making sure I could get that signal out to the rest of the house.
Well to my surprise, the signal was amazing! All TV's, I was able to grab around 31-32 channels with the Antenna in the closet.

Next step was to now get working on the install of the antenna, outside. Thankfully I already had a Dish Network Sat. that was outside, coax cable already run, and this Dish was not in use.
I simply removed the old dish and mount -- replaced with the new mount / antenna from Mohu.

Back into the house to test. Results were not the best. The picture was slightly laggy (Choppy) and signal was dropping from good to bad, back to good and then back to bad. After moving the antenna around a bit and re-testing, the interference dropped a bit and the signal was a little more stable, but it still wasn't as it should be.
**NOTE** -- It was very windy that day and I am surrounded by big trees and two large homes, neighbors. I'm positive in that, if my mounting would have been higher I would have NO issues. I guess my own personal issue is, my roof has some pretty intense peaks that I was not about to climb!

Into the attic:
Once into the attic, I re-ran cabling from the attic to the crawl space and then back up into the back side of my panel. Hooked the cable into the panel and MAGIC! My mounting in the picture is temporary, I plan on mounting to one of the beams.

Testing:
I was able to net 42 digital channels, to all TV's in house!!

Conclusion:
All in all, I cannot say enough about how easy it was to get this setup and working. As for size, the unit is small and could literally be installed into almost any space / situation. Amazing signal strength and the picture is simply superb. Pure HD. Loving it.

This product is good and delivers exactly what is advertised. I rate it 5 stars.

I purchased this after reviewing perhaps 50 other units. It seems most products don't include enough information to make an informed decision, so I felt like I was taking a gamble with whichever unit I chose. My primary criteria was to find something strong enough that would not sag with a 52" LCD flatscreen, would have enough adjustments to make itself sit level, and would be able to pull out from the bookshelf space where it would be mounted.

The unit is well constructed. There is no excessive play, the parts are all strong, and the machining done with nice quality. The back of the unit is ~19 inches across and fit my 16" studs nicely, and because of the location of the studs, the mounted part is offset from center about 5". This has caused no problems and the tv sits horizontal with zero sag. The up-down tilt knobs provide small flexibility to correct side-to-side tilt, of maybe 1 or 2 degrees, and of course they also allow the screen to be tilted up or down 15 degees as stated in the specs. The pins (hinges) which allow articulation of the arms have chromed bolts and are a tight fit - in fact are quite stiff. I think this is good, as it was sloppy play that I was concerned about, and this certainly is not a problem.

The instruction manual was super simple, well illustrated, and on good quality glossy paper. Literally, 1, 2 and 3. I only wish other products were so good in this regard.

This product will work as advertised and I recommend it as an excellent value. I ordered 12 products simultaneously from different venders, and this arrived first, 2 days early.

Toshiba 39L2300U 39-Inch 1080p 60Hz � LED HDTV (Black with gun metal trim) Review

I had ordered this TV and right after placing the order, I read the review that was written just before mine. I actually tried to cancel the TV based on that review, but it had already shipped. I'm glad that I couldn't cancel, because the truth is that it's a very nice HDTV.

Someone described this TV as flimsy and such. I disagree with that assessment. Sure, it's lightweight, but that's been the general trend with these TVs for years now. They're getting lighter, they're getting less expensive and they're getting better. Nothing wrong with any of that.

I also do not have any strange light coming from any strange places. Every thing looks and works as it should.

Assembly was simple. 4 screws secure the stand to the base. Slide the stand into the HDTV and secure with 2 more screws. Very easy.

Once plugged in, the TV scans for available channels and does so faster than most. Sound quality is good for a TV of this size and price range. It has a simple and understated but sleek look to it.

Picture quality is outstanding, right out of the box. Do understand that non-HDTV channels don't look nearly as nice as HDTV channels, but that's not the fault of this TV. It's replacing a Hiteker and non HDTV channels on that one looked poor. They look pretty good on this Toshiba. HDTV channels looked pretty good on the Hiteker. They look outstanding on this one and unlike my other TV, I didn't have to spend a lot of time trying to get the picture adjusted just right. I'd recommend the "standard" picture setting. Movie seems a bit dim to me and dynamic is just too very bold.

Let me also say that off-axis viewing, or viewing the picture from a side angle is extremely good. The last 3 TVs I've received for review purposes made it difficult to see a good picture unless you were seated right in front the TV. That's not the case with this Toshiba. It's very forgiving and offers a crisp and clear image almost irrespective of viewing position or angle.

Adding a channel to your favorites is simple. Just hold down the favorites button on the remote for 3 seconds. The remote is well laid out and can be operated by touch. Buttons and numbers are large and easy to read. Conversely, I had to analyze my Hiteker's remote before using it, but I can just pick this one up and use it with almost no thought.

The stand and lower edge of this Toshiba HDTV appear to be metal. In reality, only the vertical cylindrical piece of the stand is actually partially metal (plastic inside), but it's a nice look in any event.

This HDTV is Energy Star rated and has extremely low energy consumption. According to the sticker on the TV, similar TVs are estimated to use between $11 and $25 worth of electricity per year, while this one only uses a paltry $7 per year.

I also like the large number of inputs on this HDTV. There are 3 HDMI ports (2 on the side and 1 on the rear). It has a digital output port, which is useful with certain applications. For example, I have a soundbar that can only be connected via this Toslink digital connection and most TVs in this price range won't have that. It also has a PC input and other inputs as well.

So folks, it's a nice HDTV. I think that the picture quality is similar to what you'd expect from pretty much any of the top brands and is an excellent value in this price range. 120 hz refresh rate means that you should have a very good experience with fast motion sources, and it also has a gaming display for those gamers (like me, on occasion).

I do recommend it highly and again, I'm glad I wasn't influenced by the scary review. 5 stars.
